The success, with audiences over 50.000 spectators, corresponds to two Catalan productions: Garbo.L’espia, Edmon Roch’s first documentary, and Bicicleta, Cullera, Poma, the latest film by Carles Bosch, which explores the life of former Catalan President Pasqual Maragall and his fight against Alzheimer’s. What’s the secret? Its creators open a debate on the strengths points and weaknesses which impact on documentary film success, and the secrets to seduce the market and the viewers.

We will all remember 2010 as the year that marked the appearance of countless film premieres in 3D, new blockbusters and the incorporation of 3D projections in many theatres. TV channels and television screen manufacturers also seem to be tending towards the 3D phenomenon. Regardless of whether or not this new dimension will ultimately take root, we are invited to reflect on 3D viewing’s contribution to the audiovisual language and more specifically, on its contribution to the area of the documentary. Thus, we will analyse the 3D phenomenon from two perspectives: that of language and that of technology.
