Meet the Masters
Xtra is structure into two major sections: master classes and documentary screenings.
This year, the four scheduled discussions will be held in the auditorium of La Pedrera of Caixa Catalunya. These are: 7 plans 7 will be featuring cameraman and director Josep Maria Domènech; the master class by Slovak director Peter Kerekes; the Off-line session of the project Història d'una francesa i d'un torero by Miquel Àngel Raió and a case study of Barraques. La ciutat oblidada presented by the film's directors Alonso Carnicer and Sara Grimal and researcher Miracle Tous.
Xtra also features a number of screenings that are interesting for their treatment or their meaning with a joint sessions, with Con Sandra, by Raúl Cuevas, and Immersió, by Neus Ballús, and with the Jospeh Morder’s magnificent J’aimerais partager le printemps avec quelqu’un, programmed by two young documentary film critics and filmmakers, Miquel Martí Freixas and Anna Petrus. Moreover, this year we will be kicking off a new block titled Focus on: Italy, where we will be exploring Italy’s most recent productions. Held within the framework of the DocsBarcelona Festival, this focus event forms part of a schedule of activities organized in cooperation with Catalan Films & TV. Lastly, this year, DocsBarcelona will be hosting the screenings of the two TV3 Awards 2009: The Coca Cola Case, by directors Germán Gutiérrez and Carmen García, and Imma Serra’s Calidoscopi. 41,2ºN-1,8ºE.

Joseph Morder
We have teamed with two young documentary film critics and filmmakers, Miquel Martí Freixas and Anna Petrus, who will be bringing us three months in the life of director Joseph Morder, who made a diary-film entirely shot with the camera of a cell phone.
