Focused on the international sphere, with talks on transmedia creation and storytelling, and significant case studies. Projects, experiences and initiatives of Spanish field are also presented. Each year the conference focuses on a specific thematic area.
The interactive exhibition “Seguir con vida” of Metges sense fronteres that it will be during the Festival, would be a case study of the conference.

|Bernat Aragonés, Editor and Digital Effects Supervisor, Antaviana Films, Spain
has developed his film activity in Europe, the USA, India, Mexico and Brazil. His experience includes editing feature films, mini-series, documentaries, TV ads, and large format IMAX productions, having supervised the digital effects on over twenty projects. His passion for 3D has led me to working as a stereoscopist in feature films and live events, an experience which he now applies to various Virtual Reality projects.

Director of immersive, interactive multimedia reports. Several of his works have received important special mentions and international awards, amongst them the Premio Rey de España of Journalism – Digital category in 2016, and Special Mention at the Ortega y Gasset Awards in 2015 and 2016.
|Emilie Bessard, Interactive Commissioning Editor, ARTE, France
Since 2011, she has taken part in the interactive production of ARTE (France) to create and distribute some of the greatest interactive projects in Europe. Between 2011 and 2015, she set up the Social Media activities of ARTE developing a social strategy through an editorial approach, growing the in-house skills in web & social storytelling.
|Anna Carreras, Interactive Experiences Designer, Al Pati, Spain
She is a Telecommunications Engineer at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. She has developed installations for Expo Zaragoza, Fòrum de les Cultures Barcelona 2004 and several museums such as Cosmocaixa and the Museum Cidade da Cultura. During her career she has received mentions and awards: a Laus award in 2010, a Golden Lion at Cannes 2010, and a mention as a finalist at the Google DevArt – Art Made with Code in 2014, amongst others.
|Ferran Clavell, Head of Innovation, TVC, Spain
He is Head of Innovation and Digital Media Audiences at CCMA (Catalan Audio-visual Media Corporation). For the last 15 years he’s taken part in the creation and development of various interactive services at the CCMA. He has also served as a jury member in several editions of the Webby Awards and the Digital Emmy Awards.
|David Dufresne, Independent Journalist & Filmmaker, Canada
Writer and interactive filmmaker. Resident Fellow at MIT’s Open Documentary Lab (Boston), he is the writer and director of the multiple-award-winning documentary game Fort McMoney (Toxa/Arte/NFB), acclaimed by the New York Times as a “marriage of film and video games.” With Philippe Brault, he co-produced the web documentary Prison Valley (2010, Upian/Arte), the winner of many international honours, including the 2011 World Press Photo Multimedia Award.
|Amaia Esparza, Communications Director, Médicos sin Fronteras España, Spain
Head of communication at Médecins Sans Frontières in Spain. With a BA degree in Journalism and a Master in International Law and International Relations, she has specialized in the field of humanitarian action.
|Isabel Fernández, Director & Producer, Al Pati, Spain
She is a freelance documentary director and producer whose work focuses on exploring digital narratives and interactive audio-visual. She has been a member of the Eurovision Diversity Group, directing documentary series that have been broadcast on TV3, NTR (The Netherlands), VTR (Belgium), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), RTP (Portugal), amongst others. In 2013 she founded the production company Al Pati, and she’s currently co-producing the interactive documentary “Orgull de Baix” with TV3.
|Joan Guasch, Digital Content Director, EGM Laboratori color, Spain
He is a lecturer in audio-visual production and postproduction at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. In 2004 he started working as a producer for the advertising agency Tiempo BBDO. In 2005 he started a directing course at the film school in New York. He has made numerous pieces for advertising and has directed music videos for national and international bands. Since 2015 he’s the director of the CGI and image processing department at EGM in Barcelona.
|Anita Hugi, Producer & Author, SRF, Switzerland
Graduate in language and communication studies, has worked as a freelance journalist for print, radio, and online media. She is head of a program of arts and culture documentaries at SRF (Switzerland). It presents and (co-) produces films about art such as the collection Cherchez la femme, for which Hugi produced a portrait of Dada artist Sophie Taeuber Arp. She has been involved in the production of various online projects and magazines, including Neuland.
|Fernando Irigaray, Teacher, Webjournalist, Filmmaker & Transmedia Producer, UNR, Argentina
He holds a Master in New Information and Communication Technologies. He’s the director of the Master in Interactive Digital Communication and the director of Multimedia Communication at Universidad Nacional de Rosario. He’s also the executive director of the Latin-American Chair of Transmedia Narratives.
|Brenda Longfellow, Teacher & Transmedia Filmmaker, York University, Canada
Is an award winning filmmaker whose documentaries have been screened and broadcast internationally winning prestigious awards. In 2013 she launched the interactive documentary OFFSHORE. She teaches in the Department of Cinema and Media Arts at York University and has published articles on documentary and feminist film.
|Mike Robbins, Creative Technologist & Producer, Helios Design Labs, Canada
Creative Technologist and a partner at Helios Design Labs, where he has been for the last 15 years. He oversees the interactive part of Helios’ creative output. Recent projects that he has worked on in include Quipu, Digital Me, After the Storm, The Highrise series, Offshore, 17,000 Islands among others. The work has collectively won a number of major awards and nominations.
|Liz Rosenthal, Founder & CEO, Power to the Pixel, United Kingdom
An early advocate and pioneer of interactive storytelling, new media business models and audience engagement. Founder and CEO of Power the Pixel (PttP), an organisation helping international film and media businesses adapt to stay relevant to changing technology and audiences. PttP helps creators and companies develop stories and new entertainment formats that engage today’s connected audiences across the multiple platforms. Power to the Pixel’s services include advisory on projects, innovation and business strategy, project development labs, think tanks and international forums.
|Carlos Ruiz, Technology and Operations Director, Interactius, Spain
Co-founder of Interactius, a Barcelona-based business dedicated to User-Centered Design (within the UX – User Experience design world). Director of digital projects applying UX methodology with a multidisciplinary team: communicators, designers and programmers. Expert in project planning, interaction design, and front-end development.
