DocsBarcelona, Internacional Documentary Film Festival will celebrate its nineteenth edition from May 23rd until May 29th 2016
DocsBarcelona is internationally recognized for professionals from all over the world who come to present their films and projects. In DocsBarcelona take place the best national and international documentaries to which the audience could not have access otherwise. It is a great platform for the local talent and the ideal setting to present their works in Catalonia.
The festival has a competitive section that brings together a selection of the best documentaries of the current international scene, the Official Section.
As a novelty, this year there is an open call so that interested filmmakers can submit their work. Amongst all the documentaries submitted, the festival’s programming team will select the ones to compete in the Official Section for TV3’s Award for Best Documentary, New Talent Award and Audience Award.
The call opens on November 12th and films can be submitted until December 15th. The submission criteria will be available from November 12th on the festival’s website and on the platform Fest Home.
DocsBarcelona also has a non-competitive section that brings together the most outstanding films, out of competition. Discover the most astonishing documentaries and travel through the emotional stories that shake the world.
Docs&Teens, a section for the teenage audience. A new way to travel and discover near and far away realities.
The opening and closing ceremonies are events and meeting points for the audiance and the guests attending the festival.
