A selection of projects will gain access to the Public Pitch. The Public Pitch consist of the presentation of a project in front of a selection of commissioning editors, film funds and sales agents and accredited professionals of DoscBarcelona. Each project is going to make a presentation and show their teaser and will receive feedback from the panel of financiers and decision makers. Public Pitch acceptance includes the obligatory participation of the preparation workshop “The Magic of a Great Project and Pitch”.

In addition, a selection of projects will have access to the Speed Meetings, setting a final selection of up to 40 projects. One-to-one meetings of 15 minutes with financiers and international decision makers interested in the project.

 

In 2018 45 financers and 40 projects attended, and 558 meetings took place.

Over the past three editions 70% of the projects are finished or in production phase.

Public Pitch & Speed Meetings: Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th of May at CCCB.

Workshop “The Magic of a Great Project and Pitch”: Monday 20th of May and Thursday 21st of May at CCCB.

·       Access to Master Classes and industry conferences.

·       Access to Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Festival (previous reservation needed).

Best DocsBarcelona Pitch Antaviana Films Award

This year a Public Pitch project will opt for Best DocsBarcelona Pitch  Antaviana Films, consisting in post production and finishing services, valued in 3.000 €.


 

Foro Lau Haizetara Award

Foro Lau Haizetara will reward one of the Speed Meetings selected projects which will allow it to participate at the Foro Lau Haizetara, on September 2019.

The award includes the presentation of the project in front of the financiers during the pitching sessions and the participation at the previous workshop, in order to prepare the presentation and improve the projects, showing their strength. It also includes the professional badge for the San Sebastian Film Festival for the participants.

 

East Doc Platform Special Collaboration

DocsBarcelona has reached an agreement with the East Doc Platform (Prague, Czech Republic) consisting of an exchange of awards between the two events.?????

An Eastern European project pitched at East Doc Platform 2019 will be selected for the DocsBarcelona Speed Meetings 2019 and a project selected for the DocsBarcelona Speed Meetings 2019 will be selected to attend the East Doc Platform 2020.

The project selected will have access to:

  • A free accreditation to the East Doc Platform 2020 and all the related industry and networking events.
  • Meetings with 10 decision makers within the East Doc Market 2020 (the project will be automatically selected for the market and granted the meetings).
  • Free lunches and coffee breaks at the East Doc Market 2020.
  • To be considered for the East Doc Forum and East Doc Interactive presentation selection.
  • Access to East Doc Platform Open Programme.


 

FipaDoc Collaboration 

DocsBarcelona has reached an agreement with FIPADOC (Biarritz, France) consisting in an exchange of awards between the two events.

A project pitched at FIPADOC  2019 will be selected for the DocsBarcelona Speed Meetings 2019  and a project selected for the DocsBarcelona Speed Meetings 2019 will be selected to attend the FipaDocs 2019.

The project selected will have access to:

  • A free accreditation at FIPADOC 2020 and all the related industry networking events.
  • 4-hour coaching session to prepare the pitch.
  • Participation at the Pitching Session at FIPADOC.
  • One-to-one meetings with the commissioning editors invited.


 

DocsMX Award

DocsMX will be giving away a prize consisting of an accreditation for DocsMX 2019, an educational workshop during the festival, dieting and stay covered by DocsMX for a project selected between all the participants of the Speed Meeting and Public Pitch of DocsBarcelona 2019 with the condition of being focused on Latin-America or being produced there.
