Passionate about film, León Siminiani has explored different formats and genres. His fiction work is highlighted by Ludoterapia (2007) and El Premio (2011), both nominated for a Goya for Best Short Film. His work in the non-fiction area includes the micro film-essay series Conceptos clave del mundo moderno, that have been awarded with over 50 international awards, and Límites 1ª persona (2008), winner of the TVE Iberoamerican Competition “Versión Española” 2009. His first feature film, Mapa, a creative documentary and road movie was nominee as Best Documentary in the Spain Academy Awards (Goyas 2013) and was awarded as Best European Documentary in Seville’s European Film Festival and Best International Documentary in Rome Independent Film Festivals. His second feature doc Apuntes para una película de atracos premiered at “New directors” section of the San Sebastian Int. Film Fest. 2018. A highlight in his TV word is his collaboration with the production company Bambú Entertainment. For Bambú he co-directed the fiction series Refugiados (2013, La Sexta). In 2017, along with Ramón Campos as executive producer, he entered the investigative documentary series with Operación nenúfar: el caso asunta (Antena 3/ Netflix). It received the Discovery of the year Award at Vitoria FesTVal (2017). His last collaboration with Ramón Campos is the upcoming doc series El caso alcásser, the first original doc series produced by Netflix in Spain.
Ramón Campos is since the foundation of Bambú Producciones the creator and executive producer of all the products coming out of this company. For every project, he participates in all the stages of the process, from the development of the idea and its sale to the visual and narrative design, as well as the supervision of the cast, the music, the editing. Series like Vintage, Grand Hotel, Velvet or Under Suspicion were created this way and they are now being sold internationally. Atresmedia and BBC Worldwide joined together in 2014 to co-produce the series The Refugees, with the executive producer as the showrunner. That year also, Ramón Campos produced his first film called The Misfits Club, emphasizing the versatility of the projects that he manages. In 2016, Netflix bumped into Bambú Producciones work and entrusted in the know-how of the executive producer to produce the first original series of the streaming platform in Spain, Las Chicas del Cable.
