Rough Cut Screenings

DocsBarcelona organizes the Rough Cut Screenings

3 documentaries at a rough cut stage will be presented privately to a selected group of producers, directors, consultants, sales agents and distributors. The goal is to generate creative and constructive discussions that will favour the projects’ entry into the international market.

The sessions will be two hours long and will be moderated by Tue Steen Müller, DocsBarcelona Festival Head of Programming and International Documentary Consultant.


Tuesday May 22nd from 4.00 p.m to 6.00 p.m and Wednesday May 23rd from 9.00 a.m to 2.00 p.m at CCCB.


  • Your film should be at a rough cut stage and you should be able to present edited material of minimum 60 minutes for one hour films, and minimum 75 minutes for feature documentary films.
  • The material to be shown should be subtitled in English.
  • The film project should have an international appeal.


If you are interested in submitting your documentary film, please send an e-mail with the subject: ROUGH CUT SCREENINGS + NAME OF THE PROJECT  to a written presentation (maximum 2 pages) to us and an online link to be able watch the edited material you have until this moment

 If your project is selected, the cost to participate at the Rough Cut Screenings is:

FEE (21% VAT included*)
*The fee is for project, the maximum number of people allowed for project is 3.

The fee includes:

  • Access as a viewer at the Latin Pitch and the Interactive Pitch.
  • Access to Opening and Closing ceremonies (RSVP needed).
  • Access to the Festival screenings: one ticket per film.
  • Access to networking activities.
  • Industry Guide including all contacts from the festival participants.
