Programme DocsBarcelona 2017

Success of participation at DocsBarcelona Open Call 2017

Thanks to everyone for participating!

From DocsBarcelona we would like to express our gratitude to all filmmakers that have submitted their films. We have received over 500 projects coming from 65 countries. These data, which means an increase of submissions of 14%, consolidate us as a key documentary festival.

Out of the documentaries submitted, 23% are Spanish productions, 24% come from Latin America and 53% are international from other countries arround the globe. Little by little, DocsBarcelona breaks borders.

The films finally selected for the Official Section will compete for the TV3 Award for Best Film, the New Talent Award and the Audience Award.

Those selected for the DocsBarcelona Latitude Section will run for the DocsBarcelona Latitude-Antaviana Award and the Audience Award.

Amongst all the documentary films submitted, the programming team formed by an international committee will select the ones that will form the main festival program of the DocsBarcelona 20th edition.

Until November 28th you had time to submit your films. You can check the submission criteria here or on Fest Home platform, where all films have been registered.

DocsBarcelona’s program will be completed with the DOC-U Section-best university and film schools productions-, Docs&Teens – a selection of documentaries for teenagers-, and the non-competitive Special Sessions.

We are looking forward to build together the 20th  DocsBarcelona and to enjoy it with you from the 18th to the 28th of May 2017.
